Additionally, becoming intoxicated is unprofessional and could cause people to do and say things they would never dream of when sober.

Management should encourage employees and their guests to move about the room and have conversations with as many people as possible. The environment lends itself to employees having the opportunity to interact with people they may never even see at work. Everyone should remain sensitive to potentially polarizing topics, such as politics and religion. The holiday work party is also no place for racist, sexist, or off-color jokes.

People taking pictures at events and posting them to social media is common. However, they should seek permission from others in the photo before doing so or not post them at all if management has a policy against it.
